“Having worked as a teacher, a small business owner, public defender and a lawyer, I understand the needs and rights of all, and will strive to see justice served in my beloved Hamilton County.”
If elected as Judge, I will be proud and willing to serve Hamilton County. I will be fair, independent, and impartial – which is essential to our justice system. I will ensure justice is administered equally for all people without bias. I possess integrity and will give respect and honor to the judicial office as a public trust, and strive to enhance confidence in our legal system.
In 1989, I graduated from NKU with a BA degree and began a teaching career. I taught at Indian Hill Middle School and then at McNicholas High School. As a teacher, I led high school students on many international trips as a way to introduce them to the beauty, history, and cultures of others. During the real estate boom in 1999, I became a real estate business owner.
The business was such a success that in 2005 I was made an offer for purchase of my business and I accepted. For the first time in my life (at 40 years of age), I had the opportunity and funds to follow my dream of attending law school. I attended Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in Lansing, Michigan. The year of 2008 was an exceptional one, I graduated law school, studied for and passed the Ohio Bar exam and began working in Hamilton County as a criminal defense attorney and then later the same year for the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office.Working as a Public Defender was rewarding yet challenging, but above all – was excellent trial and legal experience.
In 2013, Sheriff Jim Neil offered me an appointment as one of his Real Estate Appraisers for foreclosures. I was happy to join the Sheriff’s team and continued practicing law as a solo practitioner; Rogers Law Office, LLC.
I am a current member of the Ohio Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the Lawyer’s Club of Cincinnati.
As a Public Defender, I co-created the Anti-Bully Campaign, where we gave presentations to students, school administrators, and faculty to recognize and prevent bullying behaviors.
On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am an active member of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the Cincinnati Lawyer’s Club, and other organizations. I also enjoy working on the restoration of my home and getting outside to hike through some of Hamilton County’s beautiful parks.
